WATERSTOCK ROCK 2008

Rumor is that Lazer will be having 2 festival-type events this summer. Stone Temple Pilots headlining one and Kid Rock headlining the other. This leads me to believe that Lazer is getting out of the traditional Waterstock-type band festival. Only so much $$ to go around. Maybe another station will pick it up. Just speculation at this point. I've been wrong before, just throwing out there.

It pleases me to no end that Lazer got STP pulled out from under them now that Chris Cardini has them booked for ValAir. I guess what comes around goes around! Lazer pulled Buckcherry from Waterstock and left us with the worthless Seven Mary Three last year on that bill. One good turn...

Of course, now that the principles aren't even talking and are suing each other, Waterstock may not happen unless the promoters go with someone else for putting it together.

All it does is hurt the fans when this crap happens. Gotta love Lazers ratings...

as far as i know the guys at lazer don't really have all that much to do with the bands that are set to play. it all starts with the concert promotor, and the agent that promotor uses to get buy the bands. in some cases like waterstock the bands are aquired through 3 or 4 different people and various companies.

its too bad waterstock won't be happening, it was always one of my favorite shows to set up for and get running. i more than understand the reason for this years absents, and its not all that pleasing as to what happened, i agree with the webmaster not posting the reason...

Well, I sure wish I was "in the know" like everyone else on this site! I can't tell you how disappointing it is that there won't be a Waterstock this year. I would be most appreciative if someone would drop me an email letting me in on the secret reason there won't be a show.

(I promise I won't tell anyone!)

Actually STP did not get pulled. I saw on Pollstar that they are scheduled for July 5th at the balloon fields which I am assuming is Indianola and Lazerfest 2.0.
